Recently my Men’s Bible Study Group discussed the idea of meeting with other Christian based Bible Study Groups. The purpose of such a meeting would be for (1) enhancing faith (2) finding like-minded projects (3) developing fellowship in Christ.
But being a Catholic comes with certain responsibilities such as finding Truth, Beauty and Love in all things. Regarding Catholic-Christian Mixers, the Truth part is downright tough because as Catholics we will eventually get around to discussing Catholic Principles such as the Catholic Church is:
ƚ Divine ƚ The Prayers of the Mass are directed to God
ƚ Uniquely Salvation ƚ The Mass is not a Community gathering
ƚ Visible and Indefectible ƚ The Mass is a Re-Enactment of Calvary
ƚ founded on Peter and his Successors ƚ The Pope’s power is limited to edification
ƚ Church Teaching cannot change ƚ Human law is ordained to Divine Law
ƚ Protestants does not have the faith ƚ Bad laws are not Laws
ƚ The Priesthood is of Divine Origin ƚ The Mass is not essentially a Meal
ƚ Holy Communion under both Species is not necessary for the Laity
ƚ The Blessed Sacrament is our Lord and must be worshipped
ƚ The Blessed Sacrament contains the whole Christ under the Species of Bread and Wine
ƚ The traditional Latin Mass is still in force in virtue of Quo Primum
Fortunately for us, our Catholic Principles are Beautiful gifts from the Holy Trinity based in Love. And as long as we stick to the Truth, Beauty and Love of our Principles our serious Protestant Brothers will experience our Love for them.
I invite your prayers and comments.
