Brave Fallen Soldier Laid to Rest

Last week a fellow instructor, where my husband is a professor, suffered the loss of a nephew who died in Afghanistan.  This was devastating news as this man and his wife also suffered the loss of their own son 10 years ago in a car accident.  Since this couple had some idea of how to proceed with a funeral, they were asked by the young soldier’s family to do all the planning and arrangements for the service and burial of their son who died in military action.   This couple did go ahead and do…See More

Hi everyone – I was reading a magazine last night and found an interesting paragraph at the bottom of one of the pages.  Paraphrasing, the article stated that it has been found that saying the Lord’s Prayer makes us happier! They said that because the Lord’s Prayer covers every aspect of our lives, it impacts more of our brain and especially the areas that affect our mood in a positive way.  They ran a test and had one person saying the Lord’s Prayer, one person reciting a poem and one…

He Waited for Me!

I was talking to a good friend today and the subject of traffic tickets came up.  My friend has a traffic ticket tips website, http://www.mytraffictickettips.com.  I told him a story about a time when there was construction on the road near my house.  The speed limit was well posted at 25 miles per hour.  One morning I was in a hurry to get somewhere as usual and seeing that there was no one working on the road - it was…

Breathe and Pray the Rosary

Posted on December 13, 2011 at 8:00am 0 Comments

Hi everyone – I was reading an interesting blog the other day (see below for link) about breathing.  We don’t breathe enough – doesn’t that sound silly?  We all breathe all day long, but the blog author had another take on it.  He said that when used in specific ways, breathing allows us to release and resolve emotions, belief systems, stresses and memories which are often inaccessible through the more conventional talking therapies.  He said breathing acts as a bridge between spirit (soul),…
